My Story...

I was born in Chicago, IL, but grew up amongst the oil patch of Midland, TX. As a teenager, I met Jesus on the banks of the San Saba River during a Boy Scout trip. After that I became homeless, living in my car until a generous family took me in for a time. I bounced from church to church until through a friend I landed at a local church in Midland where great men fathered and discipled me. It was here that I met Luke Thomas, who at the time was a college student. I also met and fell in love with Amy Williams and we married in 1998. Together we have 6 children on this earth Madelyn, Gavin, Abby, Eiley, Judson, Piper and 1 with Jesus, Max. We also met and cultivated a close relationship with Chris and Brandie Harris and their beautiful girls. Little did we know the work the Lord was knitting together with these dear friends.

Fast forward to 2010, when I heard Luke was considering planting a church in Knoxville, TN. It was then that the Lord placed on my heart that my family and I needed to go and help plant that church. It took us 2 years of waiting on the Lord to open the doors and finances. In 2013, we made the cross-country move, loving the adventure but depending on the Lord to supply all our needs and He did! He has been so good to us! He was also so gracious to call and lead Chris and Brandie Harris to move to Knoxville to join a church planting residency with Legacy Church. We were thrilled for what the Lord had in store for them.

In 2015 after completing the residency, I became a Pastor at Legacy Church and oversaw Deacon Development. My passion is to see men raised up to serve and lead in their homes and in the body of Christ. Over the next year and a half, God began to gently nudge us towards planting again, this time with the Harris family. We are so excited for what the Lord is doing and will do through this new adventure on the west side of town! It's such an honor to love His people, serve the body and build His church.
